Schedule for Tuesday, June 17, 2025

The Senate stands adjourned until 11:30am on Tuesday, June 17, 2025.

 

Following Leader remarks, the Senate will proceed to Executive Session and proceed to the consideration of Executive Calendar #98, Olivia Trusty, of Maryland, to be a Member of the Federal Communications Commission for the remainder of the term expiring June 30, 2025.  At approximately 12:00pm the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #98, the Trusty nomination.

 

Senator Padilla will then be recognized to speak for up to 20minutes, and following his remarks the Senate will recess until 2:15pm to allow for weekly caucus meetings.

 

At approx. 2:15pm the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #99, Olivia Trusty, of Maryland, to be a Member of the Federal Communications Commission for a term of five years from July 1, 2025.  The Senate will then vote on confirmation of Executive Calendar #145, Gary Andres, of Virginia, to be an Assistant Secretary of Health and Human Services.

 

If cloture is invoked on Executive Calendar #98, the Trusty nomination, the Senate will vote on confirmation at approximately 4:30pm.  Following disposition of Executive Calendar #98, the Senate will vote on passage of Cal. #66, S.1582, GENIUS Act, as amended.

 

If cloture is invoked on Executive Calendar #99, the Trusty nomination, the Senate will vote on confirmation at a time to be determined by the Majority Leader in consultation with the Democratic Leader on Wednesday, June 18, 2025.

 

During Monday’s session cloture was filed on Executive Calendar #130, Rodney Scott, of Oklahoma, to be Commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Department of Homeland Security.  This cloture is expected to ripen during Wednesday’s session.

  1. Motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #98, Olivia Trusty, of Maryland, to be a Member of the Federal Communications Commission for the remainder of the term expiring June 30, 2025

 

Tuesday June 17th at approx. 2:15pm – 2 roll call votes expected:

  1. Motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #99, Olivia Trusty, of Maryland, to be a Member of the Federal Communications Commission for a term of five years from July 1, 2025 (Reappointment)
  2. Confirmation of Executive Calendar #145, Gary Andres, of Virginia, to be an Assistant Secretary of Health and Human Services

 

Tuesday June 17th at approx. 4:30pm – 2 roll call votes expected:

  1. Confirmation of Executive Calendar #98, Olivia Trusty, of Maryland, to be a Member of the Federal Communications Commission for the remainder of the term expiring June 30, 2025
  2. Passage of Cal. #66, S.1582, GENIUS Act, as amended
